In modern  times social networking refers to the online communities where people share their interests, hobbies, and connect with people they know.

There are sites created for social networking like Facebook, Twitter, Orkut, Myspace ETC. these sites help people in connecting with the people they know and also with some distant friends and people who have not been in contact for a long time. Social networking allow people share their thoughts with the people they are connected with. 

This craze first started among the youth now people of every age have caught the fad now. Social networking now is gaining more and more power. It can be used to gain attention from the concerned people on their issue. They can even connect with their favourite personalities, and also stay updated about events and other stuff. Advertisers have also found this useful in promoting their products, and gaining a large market. Thus, Social networking is now more powerful and a requirement now than ever before.
