Travelling by railways was one of the most efficient means in
Pakistan. Unfortunately this particular means of transportation is now
known to be neglected the most. The main causes that led to such
conditions of the railways is corruption and mismanagement. The tracks
were never properly maintained neither were there projects to extend the
routes. In fact the tracks that were once built in the time of the
Britishers were damaged and never repaired; and some tracks were stolen
by charsies (drug addicts). The engines of many trains that
stopped working were never repaired which caused a lot of trains to go
obsolete. This caused the trains to be late and the passengers
overflowed. The standard is markedly decreased to a zero standard.
Pakistan Railways are going in loss as they are under huge debts and
they are yet not able to pay their workers and get new trains. The
government however is trying in their meager attempts to boost it back.
